Quick Checklist Before You Buy a Drinking Water System
Since you are reading this article, I assume you already understand the benefits of drinking pure and clean water. You are already aware about the contaminants in drinking water and the ailments they can cause. Understanding the need to buy a good drinking water system, this article presents a quick checklist which will help you take the decision.
In my view, a good drinking water system would be the one which provides water in the form it is available in nature - as pure as that of a nature spring. Essentially, it should remove all sorts of impurities and retain the essential mineral traces available in the water.
Checklist: before you buy a drinking water system
- Removes contaminants: The filtration mechanism used in a water purifier should be powerful enough to remove all types of common contaminants like chlorine, lead, cysts, pharmaceuticals etc. The water purifiers which are based on carbon filtration and ion exchange techniques have been proven to do this in a convenient and healthy manner.
- Retains essential minerals: Some drinking water systems work on the principle of reverse osmosis, thereby stripping everything from the water - even the natural mineral traces which are essential for our body. These minerals found naturally in water are required for the health of bones, teeth, cartilage and to prevent malnutrition. A good water purifier should retain these essential minerals and should give water as it is available in the nature.
- Customer recommendation and Public Health Services: Make sure that the water filter that you are planning to buy has the necessary certifications from public health services. This guarantees the quality of the water that it is going to provide you. Also check the customer feedback to see what the users are recommending. This is the best way to get an unbiased opinion about the product that you are planning to buy.
- Easy Maintenance: The water filters usually come with replacement cartridges. Make sure that these cartridges are reasonably priced. Buying a cheap water filter with a pricey maintenance cost will not take you any where. You need to ensure that the water filter that you are selecting is easy to maintain. There are some good water filters available which offer great post-sale services which are not only convenient but are cost effective too.
- Ease of use and customizability: The water filters available today come in various size and shapes. A good water filter should be easy to install, easy to use and should come with a good customer handbook. It should also offer various customizable options like countertop fitting, under-counter fitting, single complete home filter option etc. You can easily choose the one which suits you the most.
Now that you are armed with this information, I hope to see you buy a good and effective drinking water system - one that not only suits your requirement but ensures unlimited supply of healthy water to you and your family.
