Details
The Cuisinart CSB-76 Hand Blender is an immersion blender. This model is electric and comes in two finishes, white and brush chrome. I own the brush chrome model myself, and like the look and feel of it. The blending shaft is made of stainless steel, is long and easily reaches into bowls, pots, and pitchers.
Operation
This blender has a one speed one button operation. Just hold the long slender button, that is located on the top of the motor unit, down and the unit runs; release it and it shuts off. As far as blenders go, this one has a quiet operation.
Assembly
The blending shaft snaps onto the motor unit. There is a release button on the bottom of the motor unit, that is on the opposite side from the on/off button, that when pressed, releases the shaft from the motor unit.
Clean Up
The blending shaft and the beaker that comes with this blender, are both dishwasher safe. The blade is very sharp, as it is meant to be, so precaution must be used when cleaning the mixing shaft by hand. The smooth body of the motor unit easily wipes clean. Having owned plastic handled versions before, I would definitely pick the brush chrome finish. It feels more solid, and there isn’t any staining.
Uses
The Cuisinart CSB-76 Hand Blender is great for pureeing soups, mixing smoothies, blending pancake batter, and more. The beaker is slender enough, that you can drink your smoothie from it. The blending shaft can be placed directly in pots and bowls, reducing the amount of dishes to clean.
